Remote Desktop Services – previously known as Terminal Services – has a flaw in the execution of remote code when an unauthenticated attacker connects to the target device using RDP and sends specially designed requests. This vulnerability is pre-authentication, and does not require interaction between users. An attacker that exploited this vulnerability successfully could execute arbitrary code on target machine. Then an attacker may install programs; view, alter or remove data; or create new accounts that have full user rights.
The update fixes the issue by fixing the manner in which remote desktop services manage requests for connections.
